Jackson Lee Atima, the Member of Parliament for Arua Central Division, has assured the National Resistance Movement (NRM) fraternity to brace for victory saying that they engaged the heavy gear that kept party mobilizers and candidates’ task-forces united in vote canvassing.
He said this was a distinguishing feature from the 2021 campaigns where his team received no support from officials of the NRM party.
“In 2021 I did not even know whether there was a structure for NRM in the City. This is one as soon as mzee Museveni handed this flag to me, I called a harmonization meeting that brought together the members of my campaign team and the officials in the NRM party,” Atima explained.
He said the cooperation has been solid that he expects president Yoweri Museveni to win in Arua Central Division with big margin.
That will also be replicated for him as the parliamentary candidate and the City Woman member of Parliament that will also be voted for on the same day.
“Victory is around the corner,” Atima proclaimed alongside Zoe Bakoko Bakoru, the former Gender, Labour and Social Development Minister who is now the NRM party chairperson for Arua City.
The duo is preparing youths for mobilization interface with the State minister for Youths, Balaam Barugahara on Monday to galvanize youth support for the president and NRM sponsored candidates.

Atima said Barugahara is a key leader in the Patriotic League of Uganda, a pressure group under the chairmanship of Gen Muhoozi Kainerugaba, the Chief of the Defence Forces.
The interface will include meeting with youth leaders, the ghetto leaders and a public baraza aimed at answering accountability questions regarding governments development funding schemes.
These include the Parish Development Model, the Emyooga, the Youth Livelihood program among others.
“We have worked very well and very hard in the Central Division and we expect to win this election with easy,” Bakoko said.
She stated that in the Ayivu West Constituency, there has been malign propaganda against the NRM flag bearer Fiona Onzima that she could not be elected when the City Woman MP would also be coming from the same constituency.
“Everyone knows that I was elected as MP for Ayivu and as woman I worked very well. My example should be enough to assuage the people,” Bakoko said.
In the Ayivu East, Bakoko was more than confident that Eng William Tiyo will sail through.
“Eng Tiyo won the primary elections overwhelmingly. I don’t have worries about him because he has support spread throughout the constituency,” Bakoko pointed out.
She said Barugahara’s coming is the final act of waking up the youths to support the president and the NRM candidates on Thursday.

“Come in big numbers to speak to and listen from your minister,” stated Bakoko, who added that also thank your MP Atima for creating this opportunity because you will share experiences and learn from the testimonies of youths who are already making a difference.”
